Next up - Aylesbury home on Saturday

2 years ago By Stephen King

Ware have chance to make amends for worst defeat of the season.

Our only previous meeting with Aylesbury saw us go down by 6-0 to end a run of six consecutive league wins. It was also Aylesbury's best win of the season.

They have maintained good form throughout the season and are currently on the edge of the play-offs though this week sees them facing a demanding four matches in eight days as they try to catch up with a fixture backlog. Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Godalming hasn't helped but they steadied the ship on Thursday with a 3-1 home win over Barton Rovers.

A fairly obscure statistic tells us that there have been 15 0-0 draws in the league so far this season and that Aylesbury have been involved in three of them. How did we manage to leak six against such a conservative side? Perhaps this Saturday's game will reveal an answer.

The programme (£1.50 on the gate) will include Tractor Tales in which Aiden looks at the current and next seasons and ponders a possible return to the Isthmian ranks; Past Programmes which will cover our 1975 game at Alton Town; plus all the other regular features including the latest news on our under-17, academy and under-21 sides.
