Ware 2 Kings Langley 2
Win on penalties sees Ware through to the Herts Senior Cup semi-final at home to Bishop's Stortford.
A second half come back from Ware took this game to a shoot out which was finally settled by goals from Murat Karagul, Imedd Kartita and Ryan Hervel but also thanks to saves from Russell Harley.
Both teams made three changes from their Saturday league games. Ware brought in reserve keeper Harley for his debut, Kartita for his first start for the club and Alaa Oujdi back from suspension. In the context of a number of other new players in Anwar Uddin's squad for his three games so far in command the side might have looked something of a scratch eleven to some observers.
If it was they have given their manager something to think about before Saturday's league game at home to Aveley. He must have been satisfied with what he saw as once again he declined any temptation to tinker with his choices making, as on Saturday, just one substitution with Laurence Vaughan coming on for Junior Appiah.
The visitors shaded a fairly even first half by dint of more clinical finishing, going in two to the good at half time.
Ware turned things around in the second half and clawed their way back into contention with an own goal and and equaliser from Kambo Smith - his second in two games. There were inevitably chances to win it in the remaining fifteen or so minutes but the game went to penalties.
Ware now meet Bishop's Stortford in the semi-final; a game scheduled by the Herts FA for next Tuesday. If so this will mean a further postponement of our home league game with Bury Town. We will update you on that as soon as we know for sure.
