Brentwood Town 4 Ware 1
Saturday's blip is now on the verge of a slump as another four goals are shipped.
Ware's two heaviest league defeats of the season have come from consecutive matches that on paper should have produced a good safety blanket for the potentially tougher task that awaits them at Maldon this coming Saturday.
Murat Karagul and Alaa Oujdi returned from suspension with Ahmed Abdulla on from the start. But both Oujdi and Junior Appiah have been moved forward with Garjay Thompson and Prince Madu staying on as full backs.
This should give Ware more strength going forward but the result seems to be weakness at the back. Central defender Damien Green has been signed from Witham Town but is injured so whatever plans Kem Kemal has for him are held in abeyance. Meanwhile Lee White was on the bench for this game.
Such was the background to a match in which Ware played some good football but were vulnerable at the back. Two-nil down at half time Karagul reduced the deficit just after the hour. It might have been all square later when Appiah hit the side netting after it looked easier to score as the ball dropped at his feet following a fumble by home keeper Anthony Page.
It was almost inevitable that the home side would punish Ware for the miss and even though White came off the bench for his 50th appearance the visitors conceded twice more.
Ware: Garjay Thompson, Prince Madu (Dean Mason 59mins), Ahmed Abdulla, Gareth Madden, Warren Kayembe (Lee White 57mins), Junior Appiah, Alaa Oujdi, Murat Karagul, Yannick Kamanan, Rheo Josephs. Unused subs: Ahmed Mohammed, Symeon Taylor, Denzel Conteh.
