Soham Town Rangers 1 Ware 3
A win at last. November ends as it began with an away win to erase the memory of the six games in between.
Ware gained their first full set of three points in seven games with this win in Cambridgeshire. Ken Charlery kept his powder dry on a freezing night before unleashing the big guns in the second half to pull clear of a Soham side that took the lead in the 17th minute.
Blues managed to keep their cool and found an equaliser when Josh Oyinsan turned in the box to rifle one into the bottom corner of the net. Perhaps there was just a chance that it would be their turn to come from behind to claim a victory.
So it proved in the second half but not until Aston Goss, Gareth Price and Brian Haule had all come off the subs bench. Goss was the first to strike, deploying long range artillery to score from 20 yards to give Ware the lead on 68 minutes with his first league goal for the club.
Oyinsan then spoilt the symmetry of his previous appearances (a single goal in each of his first three games for the club) by scoring his second with three minutes of normal time left. Price's cavalry charge down the left outpaced the home defence before he passed the ammunition to Oyinsan to seal the points with a sniper's accuracy.
So Ware have completed a second double of the season, ended a barren spell and once again denied Soham a home victory against us. It's five wins and one draw in our six league games at Julius Martin Lane.
