Ware were a goal down after just three minutes and two goals down after twenty eight minutes, the first Soham goal scored was through a quick counter attack when Deakan Napier’s run and pass into the box was picked up by David Prada who made no mistake in curling the ball past Rhys Madden to put Soham 1-0 ahead in the 3rd minute, Ware were stunned by the opening goal and had to settle down quickly if they were going to get anything out of the game Murat Karagul and Lee White combined with the latter sending in a cross that was cleared by the Soham defence for a corner, Ryan Wade took the corner and Ajet Shehu’s header was cleared, then Soham quickly counter attacked and Louis Monk had a shot that he hit over the bar and then some good play between Ryan Sherman, Jack Bridge and Joey Abbs saw the latter’s shot well saved low down by keeper Rhys Madden in the Ware goal, Michael Deane then exchanged passes with Lee White and Deane sent in a cross that no Ware player could get on the end of and the ball ran out of play, a good run by Soham’s Deakan Napier saw him shoot wide of goal missing an excellent opportunity to extend their lead and back came Ware with Khale Dacosta crossing for Charlie Ledula who mishit his shot with the ball being cleared then in the 28th minute Soham extended their lead when Ryan Wade brought down Deakan Napier just inside the box and were awarded a penalty, Joey Abbs stepped up and converted to put Soham 2-0 ahead.
Back came Ware with Rheo Josephs winning the ball and passing to Murat Karagul who in turn found Kieran Bishop and his cross to Charlie Ledula was gathered by the keeper, shortly after Khale Dacosta passed to Albert Adu who crossed into the box the Soham keeper Enol Ordonez came to claim the ball and fumbled the ball over the line for a corner, the corner was taken and cleared down field with Soham’s Jack Bridge picking up the ball and crossing to David Prada who fired over the bar.
Ware were now settled and beginning to look dangerous and getting more possession and good build up play between Michael Deane, Murat Karagul, and Kieran Bishop saw the latter’s pass hit over the bar by Rheo Josephs and in the 43rd minute Ware’s pressure paid off when a Charlie Ledula cross was met by Kieran Bishop whose shot was saved by Enol Ordonez but only managed to push the ball out into the path of Rheo Josephs who was running in and sent in a powerful shot that cannoned in off the underside of the bar and pull Ware back into the game but still trailing by 2-1 at the half time whistle.
Half –Time: Soham Town Rangers 2-1 Ware FC.
At the start of the second half Ware’s Rheo Josephs was fouled outside the box and a free kick was awarded, Ryan Wade took the free kick which was headed across the box and cleared and then a Ryan Wade corner sent across the box was just missed by Charlie Ledula who could not get his foot to the ball, two more chances for Ware with a Ryan Wade free kick just going wide and a corner that was headed back by Lee White that fell to Albert Adu who shot wide.
Soham were still dangerous on the counter attack and Luke Stanley had a shot that Michael Deane cleared off the line and at the other end Albert Adu put in Charlie Ledula who shot over the bar and should have done better, more combined play saw Charlie Ledula and Michael Deane’s pass to Chris Bryan who impressed on his loan debut and was fouled outside the box and awarded a free kick, Ryan Wade took the free kick and bent the ball around the wall and into the net from 25 yards to level the score at 2-2 in the 70th minute. Ware continued to press with Jermaine Osie attempting to curl the ball round the keeper but the keeper saved low down and fine save by the keeper was when he tipped over the bar a Charlie Ledula header.
Late on Charlie Ledula sent in a low across and as Chris Bryan was about to smash the ball into the net the ball hit a divot and bounced up onto his knee and over the bar from 5 yards out.
At the other end Rhys Madden was busy tipping over a shot from Deakan Napier and Soham’s Enol Ordonez made a similar save denying Jermaine Osie and at the final whistle the game finished all square at 2-2 which was a fair result for both sides.
