Ware’s poor record against Heybridge Swifts was put to bed after some scintillating football in which they scored four goals in the first nineteen minutes.
Ware came out of the blocks quickly with Albert Adu’s pass finding Charlie Ledula whose fierce shot was well saved low down by H/Swifts keeper Danny Sambridge then with only 3 minutes on the clock Charlie Ledula was put through on goal and was tripped inside the box and the referee pointed to the penalty spot, Kieran Bishop stepped up and fired low into the left hand corner of the net to put Ware ahead 1-0 Ware continued to press with Gareth Madden’s pass to Charlie Ledula (who terrorised the H/Swifts defence all afternoon with his pace and tricky runs) he ran at the defence and a last ditch tackle put the ball out for a corner, the corner taken by Murat Karagul and was met by Ajet Shehu who headed just over the bar and perhaps should have done better.
Charlie Ledula set up Ware’s second goal on 11 minutes when putting in Kieran Bishop who smash home his second goal from inside the box and put Ware 2-0 ahead Ware were now playing their high tempo fast flowing football to which H/Swifts had no answer to, although their first chance came when Neil Richmond’s cross come chip went just over the bar, back came Ware with Albert Adu, Kazim Bishop and Finbarr Robins combining with the latter slipping the ball to Charlie Ledula who made no mistake in blasting past the keeper to put Ware 3-0 ahead in the 17th minute and two minutes later a Finbarr Robins cross into the box was met by Albert Adu who headed into the top corner of the net to extend Ware’s lead to 4-0 in the 19th minute.
In the 22nd minute Ware lost concentration and Billy Hunt pulled a goal back when Ware’s Rhys Madden punched the ball out which fell to Billy Hunt who was the first to react and he fired home a low powerful shot into the net to make it 4-1 and give the home side a glimmer of hope, with Ware now taking their foot off the gas H/Swifts had a couple more chances of reducing the deficit when Joe Pearman had a shot that hit the bar and Billy Hunt had a shot saved low down by Rhys Madden
Ware then counter attacked through Gareth Madden, Albert Adu, Khale Dacosta and Murat Karagul whose cross into the box was met and held by keeper Danny Sambridge.
Murat Karagul then made a tackle winning the ball and with the keeper out of his goal Murat Karagul hit the ball over the bar with an open goal at his mercy the last action of the first half belonged to Charlie Ledula whose run and cross was cleared downfield as the whistle went for the end of the first half.
Half-time Heybridge Swifts FC 1-4 Ware FC
Ware started indifferently in the second half and let H/Swifts come back into the game and I suspect they were thinking that the job was done and dusted but H/Swifts didn’t think it was over and battled to try and salvage something from the game and tried everything including some theatrics and spoiling tactics but Ware were not going to respond to this and continued to play their football with outstanding contributions by Charlie Ledula and Albert Adu.
Substitute Ryan Wade came on and a Murat Karagul corner was met by Ryan Wade but his header was saved by the keeper then Ware had the opportunity to extend their lead when Murat Karagul was tripped in the box and again the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty and up stepped Kieran Bishop for his hat trick, unfortunately for him the ball struck the bottom of the left hand post and went out of play for a goal kick.
Ryan Wade was coming more into the game and his pass to Kieran Bishop saw Bishop hit a first time curling shot that the keeper saved touching the ball round the post and then a Ryan Wade corner saw Murat Karagul head over the bar and another Ryan Wade corner was met by Finbarr Robins who volleyed over the bar. The H/Swifts forwards Billy Hunt, Neil Richmond and Joe Pearman tried their best to get their side back into the game and more or less shot on sight in a desperate bid to make something happen but the Ware defence stood firm and then a Charlie Ledula run and cross found Murat Karagul who turned and rounded the keeper and his shot deflected off a defender and fell to Ryan Wade who passed to Khale Dacosta who then passed to Finbarr Robins who pulled the ball back for Ryan Wade whose shot was saved low down by Danny Sambridge.
Late in time added on in the 90+3rd minute Neil Richmond volleyed home from the edge of the box to pull a goal back for H/Swifts but at the final whistle went down 4-2.
