Ware went down 2-1 to a very good Needham Market side and more than deserved to get a draw until the late winner for Needham Market. Both sides started well with both defences in good form and defending well.
Ware had the first goal scoring opportunity when Hulusi Mastafa and Samir Hadi combined to give Kieran Bishop a shot at goal but his shot was blocked and cleared to safety. In the 6th minute Needham took the lead when a speculative volley from outside the box by Ian Westlake found the back of the net to put Needham 1-0 ahead.
This goal stunned Ware but they quickly got back into the game with a Kieran Bishop shot being saved by the keeper and then immediately after a Needham free kick by Kemal Izzet fizzed through the box with Sam Newson trying to get on the end of it but just failed to connect and the ball ran out for a goal kick.
Ware then counter attacked through Kazim Bishop, Samir Hadi and Murat Karagul whose cross was met by Bafode Carvalho and his header was saved by the keeper, Needham then had a chance through Kemal Izzet whose shot was cleared off the line by Ware Captain Lee White.
Good play by Murat Karagul and Bafode Carvalho gave Kieran Bishop the chance to level the scores but his header was gathered by the keeper, back came Needham when Gareth Madden blocked a shot and then a Needham corner was met by Sam Newson who shot narrowly wide.
One more chance for each side before the interval saw Lee White’s goal bound header cleared and a Needham free kick into the box was hit wide by Kemal Izzet.
Half-time: Ware 0-1 Needham Market
The second half began with Ware dominating the first twenty minutes when Needham were struggling to get out of their own half, Murat Karagul led the way with a cross that was met by Bafode Carvalho who shot wide and a corner Alaa Oujdi was met by Hulusi Mustafa who also shot wide of goal.
Ware constant pressure paid off in the 57th minute when Samir Hadi's free kick outside the box was hit low around the wall into the bottom right hand corner of the net and level the score at 1-1. Soon after an Alaa Oujdi tackle and pass to Bafode Carvalho saw the latter hit his shot straight at the keeper who saved comfortably.
Needham then hit back with a free kick by Daniel Cunningham that was headed clear by Lee White and then a corner by Alaa Oujdi was met by Khale Dacosta whose shot was saved the Needham keeper Andrew Plummer.
Substitute Ryan Hervel then had a free kick that was again saved by the keeper the rest of the half was fought out in midfield with both sides unable to dominate each other and in the 89th minute Needham snatched the winner with substitute George Clarke heading in unchallenged from a Daniel Cunningham corner.
At the final whistle Needham Market triumphed 2-1.
