Following the departure of Ken Charlery the club has appointed Anwar Uddin to manage the team.
Uddin started his football career at West Ham where he was a member of their FA Youth Cup winning side of 1999. His career took him to Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol Rovers though he is best remembered in these parts as captain of first Dagenham & Redbridge and then Barnet.
He was the first person of Bangladeshi origin to play professional football in England. While at Dagenham & Redbridge he became the first British Asian to captain a football club in the top four divisions of English football.
He has had experience of team management as an assistant at Barnet and Maldon & Tiptree before taking sole command of Sporting Bengal United and leading them to their best points total in the Essex Senior League.
Anwar will be at the club's training session on Thursday to meet the players.
