We played just three games on this date between 1892 and the start of the second world war. All were drawn before 1939's friendly saw us beat Bishop's Stortford 5-4 in place of the scheduled Spartan League game with Wendover. A resumption of football after the war saw us draw again in 1951's home Spartan League game with Upminster but 11 years later we gained a decision at last with a 5-2 home win over Histon in the Delphian League.
1969's East Anglian Cup game at Hitchin found us 3-0 down after just 27 minutes before fog caused an abandonment. The game itself was a second attempt to decide the tie after an earlier match was abandoned on 58 minutes due to a blizzard with us 4-2 down. Remarkably the third attempt in January saw us win 2-1 with Micky Lyons getting both goals.
