Tractor Tales - January 1st

A series of personal thoughts from the seat of the tractor.

By Aiden Mynott

Well here we are at the start of a New year. Will 2018 bring sorrow or joy. The forecast suggests rain if nothing else and that’s on top of the melted snow from last Wednesday which came 2 days late.

On the pitch there is definite improvement but it is clear the task of turning things round is not going to happen quickly. I do not envy the manager the task in front of him. Still like most things if it was too easy it would not be a challenge and therefore have no appeal.

The trial in the USA finished on Friday and 2 of the 3 South American officials were found guilty and one was a quitted. At one point it seemed like a Hollywood film with one defendant rubbing his finger across his throat as a witness was giving evidence. His lawyer claimed he had a rash on his throat which was itching and he could not resist scratching it.

All that remains is for me to wish everyone a prosperous New year and a happy one. Also an average of 2 points per game would be most welcome in the 20 remaining games.

And on that bomb shell

Where next?

Craig Edwards leaves to join Cheshunt. It has been confirmed that Craig has left as manager of Ware to take on the job at Cheshunt after Steve Newing's departure from Theobalds Lane.
Today's match with Potters bar has been postponed. After an inspection the pitch was found to be too waterlogged for football.
